Under 9 Black

Mid Wilts League U9 Zone R

MWL U9 Zone D - CCCFC Blacks v FC Chippenham Milan Print

In our penultimate fixture of 2016, we faced our friends from FC Chippenham.

Riley K showed great concentration throughout and saved superbly from a late penalty.

Harry gave an assured display in the backline.  Timing his tackles and sniffing out any danger.

Scarlet capped another solid performance with her first goal for the Colts.

Oliver - the skipper led by example with four goals

Thomas grew into the game and made a fantastic assist following one of his many great runs.

Riley N finished the off the best move of the game and was a constant threat down the wing.

Ethan scored a poachers goal and took up some great positions in attack.

Otis won the ball back on many occassions and showed what a great ball carrier he is.  Opened the scoring.

MOTM Ruby ran the game from midfield and defence, hurrying up the opposition whenever they had the ball.

Thank you as always to the amazing support from the home crowd and to Charlie for refereeing.

Slow start

MWL U9 Zone D - CCCFC Blacks v Trowbridge Wanderers Print

A tough, well drilled and skilful opponent.

A great effort from the Blacks, hitting the woodwork SEVEN times.  20 corners & numerous saves from the exemplary Wanderers keeper.
MOTM awarded to Scarlet
MWL U9 Zone D - Bradford Town Vikings v CCCFC Blacks Print

Tough graft from the Blacks this week against an improving Vikings team.

Defences were on top.  Harry picked up the "man of the match" for a solid performance in the backline.  Riley K's distribution from the back is improving week on week. Scarlet had her best game.  Thomas & Otis ran themselves into the ground going "uphill" in the first half.  Ruby was a menace and kept retaining possession all game.  Ethan & Riley were constant threats in attack, as Oliver drove on the team from midfield.

Five goals from Oliver & a poachers finish from Riley N

Fantastic support from the Blacks as this seasons wet weather gear was on display.

MWL U9 Zone D - Worton & Cheverell Wizards v CCCFC Blacks Print

An early morning trip through the back roads and fields of Wiltshire brought the Colts to Worton & Cheverell for what turned out to be a very enjoyable, competitive and end-to-end match.

With the presentation of the new “anthem jackets” to the team prior to the game, the Blacks looked and felt the part. Adding to this, the beautiful gesture from the club of the poppies on the shirt was warmly received (and the meaning discussed at great length) by the players who wore their poppies with immense pride.

Prior to kick-off, the one minute silence was impeccably observed by all in attendance.

Both keepers were tremendous today, especially one outstanding save by Riley K

Solid from Ruby, Thomas & Scarlet at the back - which allowed the endeavour of Otis, Oliver, Ruben & Harry.

Ethan & Riley N continue to put away the chances created by the midfield quartet.

On a day when remembering our fallen took priority, it was so good to see two sets of kids thoroughly enjoying a great game of football played with great spirit.

Thank you to Worton & Cheverell also for being great hosts (and their coach, who refereed and was very encouraging to both sides throughout the game - especially one great tackle from Rocket Ruby). They made a very long journey worthwhile and for that we thank them.

MWL U9 Zone D - AFC Corsham Jaguars v CCCFC Blacks Print

A misty autumnal morning at Leafy Lane - the Blacks faced a familiar opponent in the Jaguars of Corsham.

A high scoring affair in the end with a flurry of goals in the second half.

The Jaguars had an outstanding forward who punished us on the few occasions Ruby & Scarlet allowed him.  A very competitive game right up to the final whistle.

Thomas had a very good game, including scoring our opener and his first of the season in the league.

Riley K continued his improvement in goal and his distribution was quicker, which was pleasing.

Oliver anchored the midfield and his interplay with Ruben was often too much for the opposition.

Harry almost opened his account for the Blacks with a well struck shot.

Riley N & Otis were constant threats down the flanks, both carried the ball well and it was the result of one of these runs saw Otis score a brilliant breakaway.

Our stand out player on the day was birthday boy Ruben, who scored two well taken goals and also linked very well with all the Blacks.

Great support as we've come to expect from the Blacks Ultras........and there was birthday cake too!

Ruben birthday
