U11: Match report v Newbury (away) Print
Season 16/17 - Under 11

Castle Combe U11s v Newbury on 18-09-16

Combe travelled to Newbury for their first away match this season with Joel and Sam both shooting superbly from long range. The match showed the areas we need to improve. First of all positives...
1. There was some good possession and passing
2. Pleasing wing play and crossing into the box.
3. In the second half the defence played better together.
4. Running and closing down opponents, especially from Joel, Sam and Nick.
5. Chances created...

Now the things to work on boys...( parents please discuss if possible)
1. When in defence choosing when to play offside and when to drop off- Sometimes it's better to do one or the other.
2. Gambling or trying something, like making runs into the box to meet a cross, trying a short corner or following up incase the keeper spills it.
3. Final pass or shot to be better.
4. Fitness and non stop effort needed from EVERY player for the WHOLE match!

Let's try all those things next week in the cup- we know you CAN do it!
