u16 CCCFC 3-3 Brinkworth Cats Print
Season 16/17 - Under 16

First game of the season and 3 points slipped from our grasp at the death, that's football. A good tight game against a well organised and physical Brinkworth side. I think if we had taken the good chances that fell our way especially in the first half the game would have been ours. The positive is we kept creating, the effort was there, it was good to see.

Eddie opened the scoring, direct from a well struck free kick, keeper got a hand to it, but it had crossed the line. Unfortunate own goal brought Brinkworth level just before half time. We started the 2nd half really well and took the lead when Joshua found himself unmarked in the box, he steadied himself and unleashed a sliced left footer that somehow just crept over the line, they all count Josh !! Our 3rd goal came from Joe P who calmly finished into the bottom corner after a good set up from Luca. Luca was then desperately unlucky not to score after his chip over the on rushing keeper struck the post, if that had gone in it was game over. Brinkworth however never gave up and looked dangerous on the break, we gave them the chance they needed with some indecision at the back making it 3-2 with 5mins remaining nd then with the final kick Brinkworth grabbed the equaliser from a tight angle.

Man of the match: Not easy as there was some good performances, I think Kryzstof deserves it after an excellent display at right back.

Next match: away to Swindon Supermarine on Sunday 11th Sept.
