U15 CCCFC 1-2 Supermarine Print
Season 15/16 - Under 15

On a glorious sunny morning the colts missed a golden opportunity to stake a claim for the league title today with a disappointing result against a very resolute and organised Swindon Supermarine team who over the 80mins deserved their win, they showed a real willingness to work hard and battled for every ball, something a few of our players would do well to learn from.

We started the game brightly enough, but we were very wasteful when in possession of the ball, our passing and in particular our final pass was very poor today, admittedly not helped by the condition of the pitch, we gave our forwards Eddie & Luca, very little to work with. A very good ball from Toby did pick out Luca who finished first time past the keeper on 23mins, we were unlucky not to extend the lead when a great 30 yard volley from Eddie struck the top of the bar. 1-0 at half time. The 2nd half is where it all started to go wrong as sloppy defending gifted 2 very avoidable goals in the first 5mins, we huffed & puffed but didn't create enough to warrant an equaliser, the only real effort of note was when Luca's lob was a touch too high. Supermarine defended very well, they sat deep and tried to hit us on the break, we did cope with this fairly well. Lets get back to winning ways in the next game. Thank you to Rob & Mike for running the line this morning, much appreciated.

Man of the match: Easy choice this week - Toby, phenomenal effort in midfield today and an excellent assist for our goal.

Next game: Ramsbury away next Sunday 24th April 10am kick off
