NWL u15 Highworth Tn 1 - 5 CCCFC Print
Season 15/16 - Under 15

A terrific result this morning in difficult windy conditions and on a very bumpy pitch. Both sides started slowly it felt more like a testimonial game ! Eventually we started to get on the ball and cause their defence problems, on such an occasion a mazy run from Eddie resulted in him being brought down in the box and the ref awarded a penalty, Eddie stepped up to calmly slot home the spot kick. Joe W extended our lead on 26mins with a great 40 yard strike after the Highworth keeper was caught out of position. 2-0 at half time.

We started the 2nd with much more purpose and were rewarded with further goals from Eddie on 52 & 60mins, both cooly finished in 1 on 1 situations with the keeper. Highworth immediately hit back when a terrific shot flew past Joe. Jake went close with a header from a Dan corner. Jake then put the game to bed on 65mins with an easy tap in after great work from Luca. Although we had a few regulars missing today, it just shows how much strength in depth we have in this squad, well done to all.

Man of the match: Not an easy choice, but Eddie gets the nod with some fine composed finishing.

Next game: Swindon Supermarine at YK on Sunday 17th April, kick off 10.am
