NWL Cup Semi Final u15 CCCFC 0-3 Swindon Rangers Print
Season 15/16 - Under 15

A great effort by the guys this afternoon against a very strong Swindon Rangers team in the NWL semi final at Beversbrook. The colts played to their strengths and competed really well over the pitch, this appeared to frustrate our unbeaten div 1 opponents. They did eventually break through our resolute defence with 2 goals in the first half, near the end of the first half a crude challenge on Toby gave the referee no option but to show a red card. We started the 2nd half with the extra player, but really didn't make it count as we became a touch wasteful when in possession, as the half wore on we pushed more players forward in the hope of nicking a goal, this ultimately left us a little light at the back and Swindon capitalised with a break away goal right at the death to give them a slightly flattering 3-0 scoreline.

A good performance that outlines the improvement all the players have made particularly over the last 2 seasons, this game proves they can compete with any team.

Man of the match: James an absolute rock in defence, closely followed by Toby in central midfield

Next game: Lambourn at home on Sunday 20th March 10.30am kick off
