A DAY FOR HEROES

After 3 pull outs overnight - 1 of which reconsidered and came when he heard of our predicament (thanks go to the Gemptons) - we had to start this game with only 8 players against our opponents 9.

10 mins in we went 2-0 down and Alex went down injured (down to 7!) - I was fearing a hiding.

Our 9th player turned up - cheers Ted - and....Something stirred - the sheer endeavour of all the lads - MAX, JACOB, TED, BEN, ALEX. JJ, ARCHIE, LOUIE, JOE G - brought them through to a position where they were eventually were deservedly leading 6-3!

Archie rounded off a birthday performance with a hat trick containing a goal of the season contender from 25 yards. Louie got the first goal by dribbling the ball into the net from 15 yards out, the scoring was rounded off with great strikes from JJ and Ben.

JJ put in his most industrious display ever to take the MOM award but if you had given it to any of the others you would not have heard any arguement. Louie, Alex and Joe G in particular were magnificent.
