The colts took on the role of giantkillers this morning as they deservedly defeated previously unbeaten Div 1 Ferndale Rodbourne in the 2nd round of the league cup.

We didn't get off to the best start, conceding an unfortunate own goal inside 2 mins. The colts quickly regrouped and set about the task in hand, and it wasn't long before we were not only level, but in the lead with goals from Dan & Joe P. Eddie grabbed a third to give us a nice 3-1 lead at halftime. Its a cliche, but during the break we talked about who ever scores the next goal would probably win the game, fortunately for us Luca tucked away the all important 4th goal, further goals from Joe P & Eddie made the game safe. Ferndale pinched a couple of late consolation goals to make the scoreline a little more respectable for them. Today we were fantastic going forward with some excellent passing and movement, but we also had to be alert and aware when defending against a very good team. The guys made sure they put their bodies in the way and blocked everything that came their way, the commitment and effort shown by all was pleasing to see. This tremendous effort has now put us into the last 8. Well done to all.

Man of the match: Again very difficult, but I think Jake edges it, absolutely superb in the centre of defence.
