U14 CCCFC 5 - 1 Swindon Yth Print
Season 14/15 - Under 14

The colts produced one of their better performances today to secure back to back victories over Swindon Youth and cement our 3rd place position in the table.

Straight from the kick off we were on the front foot and won a corner, Dan took the kick and James rose at the back post to head the ball into the net with only 50secs on the clock!! Eddie extended our lead on 5 mins with some fine skill to beat his marker and an excellent finish. Swindon gradually got into the game, but for an excellent save from Jasper would have scored, they started to cause our back 4 a few problems  with their quick attackers and it was on one of these break aways that they scored, a long ball over the top left our defenders a little flat footed and Jasper stranded one on one, in fairness the Swindon player showed great composure to finish well, Eddie restored our 2 goal cushion when he got on the end of a Dan cross to score from close in. 3-1 at half time.

The first half performance made the half time talk a little easier than in previous weeks, just how I like it. The  colts continued in the same vain, some of the football played was a joy to watch, we confirmed our superior play with Eddie notching another hatrick on 47mins. Chances came and went with Jamie, Dan , Toby & Jacob all going close to getting on the scoresheet, we got our 5th goal when an unfortunate Swindon defender did well to tackle Eddie just as he was about to shoot, but the tackle diverted the ball past his own keeper. A very good game played in the right spirit by both teams. Well done to all.

Man of the match: very difficult decision with some very good performances, but Dan gets it after a great display of passing & 2 assists.

Next game: Sunday 15th March Croft away.
