U14 Stratton Yth 2 CCCFC 3 Print
Season 14/15 - Under 14

We were not at our best today against Stratton Youth in Cirencester, but had enough quality to edge a 3-2 victory.

The game didn't start terribly well when we managed to put the ball into our own net with less than 2mins played. The colts soon settled with Matthew equalising on 16mins after a fine cross from Jamie. A lack of composure with the final ball and when in front of goal meant the game remained 1-1 at halftime.

We certainly started the 2nd half much better than the 1st with Jamie coolly slotting the ball past the advancing keeper after a fine through ball from Dan on 39mins, however within 2mins Stratton scored their 2nd goal with a fine header, albeit an unmarked one!! On 45mins Eddie scored what turned out to be the winning goal when after a fine individual run he thundered the ball past the keeper from a tight angle. There were further opportunities to extend our lead with Jamie, Toby and Dan all going close. Not the best performance, but never the less a good 3pts in the bag, well done.

Man of the match: Dan, a very good 2nd half display with some fine passing.

Next game: Swindon Youth at home, 12.30pm kick off.
