The colts were quick out of the blocks this morning against Frome Town and they needed to be, having already lost to them earlier in the season they knew it was going to be a tough game, however they really took the game to their opponents as we tried to take advantage of playing down the slope and they were rewarded after 7mins when Eddie latched onto a through ball and smashed the ball into the top right hand corner. The colts played some nice passing football on a difficult surface and this good play led to their 2nd goal when James played a 1-2 with Matthew and then crossed superbly for Jamie who was in the right place at the right time to score. The colts kept pushing and should have had a couple more goals to their name, Harry was especially unlucky as he struck a wonderful shot from at least 35mtrs that cleared the keeper, but somehow struck the post. Jasper ensured a 1st half clean sheet with a terrific save near the end of the half. 0-2 at half time

Having to play up the slope on a heavy pitch was going to difficult, but I actually thought the guys played even better football, they were playing out from the back with Jake taking the ball from keeper Jasper and then playing through the midfield of Matthew, James and Dan, James went very close to extending the lead but narrowly missed, James though did score the 3rd goal after a fine run and left foot shot that thundered into the top left hand corner giving the keeper no chance. Frome kept on battling and eventually after a small lapse in concentration they scored what turned out to be a consolation goal. A very good display from everyone. Well done to Jake & Tom L on their debuts today.

Man of the match: not easy to pick an individual from such a good team performance, but special mention must go to Jamie, Dan, Tom.R & Harry who are all gaining in confidence, keep it up guys.
