U9 Orange Division: Trowbridge Wands Albion 2 CCCFC Whites 2 Print
Season 12/13 - Under 9 Black & White

A weakened Whites line-up endured a frustrating morning at Staverton as they surrendered their 100 per cent Orange Division record.
Wanderers were determined to give a better account of themselves after losing 9-0 in the reverse fixture at Combe and twice came from behind to earn a draw they fully deserved.
The visitors’ lacklustre start was a sign of things to come but they began to press as Luke and Max linked well in midfield and took the lead when George weaved his way through the Wanderers defence for a superb solo goal.
Wanderers swiftly cancelled it out, though, and later grabbed a second equaliser after George stabbed home Bradley’s left-wing cross.
The second half saw no goals but chances at both ends. Keeper Josh’s safe hands kept a fast-breaking Wanderers side at bay, but it was the Colts who finished the game on top. Brandon - who showed his strength at both ends of the pitch - and Luke both fired inches over the bar, while Tom was denied a late winner on his birthday following a typically pacy run.
Time ran out for Colts, who were unable to match Wanderers' commitment to the cause and will need to show a greater sense of urgency in the tougher assignments that lie ahead.
