U9 Devizes Town A 6 - 1 CCCFC Print
Season 09/10 - Under 9

U9's suffered their heaviest defeat of the Season at Devizes on a wind and rain swept Saturday morning. After a great start where Colts controlled much of the play and created several chances, the deadlock was broken when Jimmy lobbed the keeper from outside the penalty area. Eddie and James found chances hard to come by and were being superbly marshalled by the home team's defence ,denying them any space to exploit. On 8', Sebastian made a fantastic diving save to his left as Devizes Town began to get into the match. Jay replaced James on 10 minutes in a change of formation but it was a break down the left hand side, 2 minutes from halftime that was to be the Colts undoing, as 4 boys in black and white failed to cut out the cross and left a simple tap-in at the farpost giving Sebastian no chance. 1-1 at the break. Alec and Joshua B came on at halftime but U9's failed to get to grips with Town's number 3 who ironically bagged a hatrick. Alec made a fine save to tip a shot round the post for a corner and Alex battled valiantly at the back  but Colts can have no complaints and despite 2 late goals, a 1-6 scoreline shows how much the team will have to improve to stay in the top flight next season.

Mom. Jimmy, great strike to put Colts ahead and worked tirelessly to inspire the boys around him.
